PM Modi’s Visit to Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to Usher in Major Development Projects and Celebrate Cultural Heritage

RR Team, April 9, 2025April 9, 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on April 11, where he will participate in a range of events focused on development and cultural heritage. In Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple projects valued at over ₹3,880 crore. These initiatives are aimed at improving infrastructure, boosting the local economy, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

With a strong focus on road connectivity, energy, education, tourism, and public services, the Prime Minister’s visit promises to bring tangible progress to the region. Major road development works, including bridges, flyovers, and a highway underpass tunnel near the Varanasi International Airport, will be kickstarted. These projects, worth over ₹980 crore, are expected to ease traffic and enhance connectivity in and around the city.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate significant upgrades to the power infrastructure, including high-capacity transmission substations across Jaunpur, Chandauli, and Ghazipur districts, and new facilities in Varanasi and Ghazipur. These efforts, worth more than ₹1,800 crore, aim to provide more reliable electricity to urban and rural households.

In the realm of education, the Prime Minister will inaugurate new institutions such as a Government Polytechnic College at Pindra, a government college at Barki village, and lay the foundation for school renovations and new Anganwadi centres. The launch of rural libraries and enhanced sports facilities, including a synthetic hockey turf and a mini stadium, reflect the government’s commitment to youth and community development.

Tourism and urban development will also receive a boost with the redevelopment of the scenic Samne Ghat and Shastri Ghat along the Ganga, and several beautification projects around Varanasi. The Prime Minister will also launch projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission to improve access to drinking water in rural areas and initiatives to strengthen the MSME sector, including the foundation stone for an MSME Unity Mall.

Recognizing local traditions and craftsmanship, the Prime Minister will present Geographical Indication (GI) certificates to newly registered items such as tabla, thandai, tiranga barfi, and traditional paintings. Additionally, he will hand over Ayushman Vay Vandana cards to senior citizens and transfer a ₹105 crore bonus to milk suppliers in association with Banas Dairy—moves that highlight the government’s support for both the elderly and the rural economy.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will travel to Madhya Pradesh, where he will visit Anandpur Dham in Isagarh Tehsil of Ashoknagar district. There, he will perform darshan and pooja at the revered Guru Ji Maharaj Temple and tour the surrounding temple complex. Anandpur Dham is a hub of spiritual and philanthropic activities, home to a modern gaushala with over 500 cows, charitable hospitals, schools, and Satsang centers across India.

This visit not only underlines the government’s developmental priorities but also reaffirms a deep respect for India’s cultural and spiritual roots.
