PM to Visit Bihar on 15th November for Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, Inaugurate Development Projects Worth Rs 6640 Crore

RR Team, November 13, 2024November 13, 2024

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Jamui, Bihar, on 15th November to mark Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, the beginning of the 150th Birth Anniversary Year celebrations of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a prominent tribal freedom fighter. During his visit, the Prime Minister will unveil a commemorative coin and postal stamp in honour of Bhagwan Birsa Munda at around 11 AM.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several major development projects worth over Rs 6,640 crore, aimed at the upliftment of tribal communities and improving infrastructure in rural and remote areas. These projects focus on enhancing the ease of living for tribal populations across the region.

Among the key initiatives, the Prime Minister will participate in the Grih Pravesh (housewarming) ceremony of 11,000 homes built under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN). He will also inaugurate 23 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) launched under PM-JANMAN, along with an additional 30 MMUs under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) to improve healthcare access in tribal areas.

In a bid to promote entrepreneurship and livelihood generation, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 300 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs). Additionally, he will unveil 10 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools, with an investment of around Rs 450 crore, to provide quality education for tribal students.

To preserve the rich history and heritage of tribal communities, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museums, located in Chhindwara and Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), and two Tribal Research Institutes in Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) and Gangtok (Sikkim). These institutions will serve as crucial resources for documenting the contributions and struggles of tribal communities.

Further enhancing connectivity in tribal regions, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 500 km of new roads. He will also initiate the construction of 100 Multi-Purpose Centres (MPCs) under PM JANMAN, which will serve as community hubs, and will lay the foundation for 25 additional Eklavya Model Residential Schools worth over Rs 1,110 crore.

Other key developments to be launched include 25,000 new houses under PM JANMAN worth around Rs 500 crore and 1.16 lakh houses under DAJGUA worth over Rs 1,960 crore. The Prime Minister will also approve the construction of 66 hostels under PM JANMAN and 304 hostels under DAJGUA, along with 50 new Multi-Purpose Centres, 55 Mobile Medical Units, and 65 Anganwadi Centres.

Additionally, he will sanction 6 Centres of Competency for Sickle Cell Anaemia elimination and 330 projects for the upgradation of Ashram Schools, hostels, and Government Residential Schools under DAJGUA, with a total investment of around Rs 500 crore.

The Prime Minister’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for tribal communities and preserving their rich cultural heritage.
