Prataprao Jadhav Reviews Swachhata Drive Progress

RR Team, October 30, 2025October 31, 2025
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, reviewed the progress of Special Campaign 5.0 at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi. The campaign focuses on institutionalizing cleanliness and improving efficiency in government offices through record management, grievance disposal, and sustainable practices.

Massive Swachhata Push Across Health Institutions

Under the Special Campaign 5.0, the Department of Health & Family Welfare (DoHFW) has carried out extensive cleanliness and record management drives between October 2 and 31, 2025. The campaign also placed strong emphasis on the proper disposal of e-waste and reducing administrative backlogs.

According to official data, as of October 29, 2025, 1,582 cleanliness drives had been organized across various health offices and institutions. The campaign also resulted in the successful disposal of 85 references from Members of Parliament, underscoring the government’s focus on transparency and responsiveness.

Focus on Grievance Redressal and Efficiency

The Ministry reported notable achievements in resolving citizen concerns and clearing pending matters. A total of 4,726 public grievances and 360 grievance-related appeals were addressed during the campaign period. Additionally, 41,909 physical files were reviewed, out of which 29,844 files were weeded out to improve efficiency.

On the digital front, 5,759 e-files were examined, leading to the closure of 2,114 electronic files. The streamlined record management exercise not only enhanced administrative productivity but also freed up 30,442 sq. ft. of office space.

Revenue Generation and Waste Reduction

The cleanliness and rationalization measures taken under Special Campaign 5.0 generated a total revenue of ₹37,54,570 through the disposal of redundant materials. This achievement highlights the campaign’s focus on sustainability and resource optimization, ensuring that government spaces remain organized, functional, and environmentally responsible.

Minister Jadhav appreciated the efforts of all participating institutions, including Central Government Hospitals, Autonomous Bodies, and CPSUs, for their active contribution. He reiterated that cleanliness and efficient record management are not one-time exercises but essential elements of good governance.

Driving Institutional Swachhata and Public Accountability

Shri Jadhav emphasized that Special Campaign 5.0 represents the government’s broader commitment to Swachhata, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery. The initiative seeks to embed a culture of responsibility and order within the public health administration ecosystem.

The Minister also highlighted that the campaign aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission and contributes to improving workplace hygiene and efficiency across government offices.
