As the nation prepares to welcome New Year 2026, President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu extended warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to citizens across the country and Indians living abroad. In her message issued on the eve of the New Year, the President highlighted the importance of unity, positive change, and collective responsibility in shaping India’s future.

The message, released by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), reflects the President’s emphasis on national development, social harmony, and environmental consciousness as India steps into another year of growth and transformation.

New Year as a Symbol of Renewal and Reflection

President Murmu described the New Year as a time that symbolises renewed energy and optimism. She underlined that the beginning of a new calendar year offers an opportunity for introspection and fresh resolutions, both at the individual and collective levels.

Her message encourages citizens to reflect on their roles as responsible members of society and contributors to the nation’s progress. According to the President, the New Year is not merely a change of date but a moment to reaffirm values that strengthen India’s democratic and social fabric.

Call for Commitment to National Development

In her address, President Murmu urged Indians to further strengthen their commitment towards the development of the nation. She stressed that sustained progress can only be achieved when citizens actively participate in building an inclusive and resilient India.

The President’s message aligns with the broader national vision of balanced growth, where economic development goes hand in hand with social welfare. Her remarks serve as a reminder that collective efforts remain crucial in addressing challenges and achieving long-term national goals.

Emphasis on Social Harmony and Unity

Social harmony featured prominently in the President’s New Year message. She appealed to citizens to uphold unity and mutual respect, recognising India’s diversity as its greatest strength.

At a time when societies worldwide face divisions and uncertainties, the President’s words underscore the importance of solidarity, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence. Her appeal reinforces the constitutional values that bind the nation together.

Environmental Protection as a Shared Responsibility

Highlighting environmental protection as a key priority, President Murmu called upon citizens to remain conscious of their responsibility towards nature. She emphasised that safeguarding the environment is essential for ensuring a sustainable future for coming generations.

The President’s message resonates with India’s ongoing efforts to balance development with ecological preservation. It encourages individuals and institutions alike to adopt practices that contribute to environmental conservation.

Message of Peace, Prosperity and Hope

Concluding her greetings, President Murmu expressed hope that the year 2026 would bring peace, happiness, and prosperity into the lives of all citizens. She conveyed her wish that the New Year would infuse renewed energy across the nation to build a stronger and more prosperous India.

Her message reflects optimism for the future and confidence in the collective strength of the people. It serves as an inspirational note as India steps into a new year with aspirations of progress and harmony.
