President Murmu will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram on the evening of October 21, marking the start of her Kerala tour. The visit aims to strengthen the state’s long-standing connection with national institutions and promote educational and spiritual heritage.
Darshan at Sabarimala Temple on October 22
On October 22, the President will visit the famous Sabarimala Temple to offer prayers and perform the traditional Darshan and Aarti. The visit to the sacred hill shrine underlines the President’s respect for Kerala’s spiritual traditions and the cultural diversity of India.
Tribute to Former President K.R. Narayanan
The following day, October 23, will witness a significant tribute as President Murmu unveils the bust of former President of India, Shri K.R. Narayanan, at Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. K.R. Narayanan, India’s first Dalit President, hailed from Kerala and remains a symbol of equality and democratic values.
Inauguration of Mahasamadhi Centenary of Sree Narayana Guru
Later on October 23, President Murmu will inaugurate the observance of the Mahasamadhi Centenary of Sree Narayana Guru at Sivagiri Mutt, Varkala. The event will commemorate 100 years of the Guru’s Mahasamadhi and highlight his teachings of social harmony, education, and spiritual upliftment.
Speaking at the event, the President is expected to emphasize the enduring relevance of Sree Narayana Guru’s message — “One caste, one religion, one God for humanity” — in modern India’s pursuit of equality and unity.
Engagements in Palai and Ernakulam
President Murmu will also attend the valedictory ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of St. Thomas College, Palai, on the same day. The institution, known for its academic excellence, will mark 75 years of service in higher education.
On October 24, the President will be the chief guest at the centenary celebrations of St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam. The event will honor the college’s century-long contribution to women’s empowerment and education in Kerala.
