President Extends Warm Greetings on Guru Nanak Jayanti

 The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, has extended her heartfelt greetings to citizens across the world on the eve of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday, also known as Guru Nanak Jayanti. In her message, she called upon all Indians to embrace the timeless teachings of the revered Sikh Guru that emphasize truth, justice, compassion, and equality.

Inspiration from Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Teachings

Highlighting the spiritual and moral essence of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life, President Murmu said that the occasion serves as a reminder to build a society rooted in honesty, kindness, and respect for all. “His message teaches us that living a life based on truth, justice, and compassion is the true measure of success,” she stated.

The President also reflected on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s universal message of oneness and equality, saying, “His teachings emphasize one God and human equality. He inspires us to live with honesty and to share resources with one another.”

Promoting Harmony and Compassion

President Murmu urged citizens to draw inspiration from Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s ideals to create a more harmonious and inclusive society. She said that Guru Nanak’s philosophy of “Sarbat da Bhala”  the welfare of all remains deeply relevant in today’s world marked by social and economic challenges.

Her message resonated with millions of devotees preparing to celebrate the festival across the country with prayers, processions, and acts of service, reflecting the core Sikh principle of seva or selfless service.

Guru Nanak Jayanti  A Day of Universal Values

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Prakash Parv, marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. Celebrated with great devotion in India and across the world, the day highlights his message of faith, equality, and universal brotherhood.

President Murmu’s greetings add to the chorus of national leaders and spiritual figures who have called upon citizens to uphold the principles of unity and compassion that Guru Nanak Dev Ji embodied throughout his life.

About the President’s Message

In her message, the President extended best wishes to all Indians, especially the Sikh community, both in India and abroad. She encouraged everyone to follow the path shown by Guru Nanak Dev Ji to build a peaceful and prosperous nation.
