President Inspects Udyan Utsav 2026 Prep at Rashtrapati Nilayam

RR Team, December 19, 2025December 19, 2025
Hyderabad: President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu on Friday reviewed the preparations for the opening of the second edition of Udyan Utsav at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Hyderabad, underscoring the importance of public engagement with sustainable agriculture and India’s rich horticultural heritage.
The nine-day Agriculture and Horticulture Festival will be open to visitors from January 3 to January 11, 2026, daily between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with the last entry permitted at 7:00 PM. Entry to the Udyan Utsav will be completely free, making it accessible to citizens from all sections of society.

A Festival Rooted in Sustainability

The Udyan Utsav has emerged as a key public outreach initiative aimed at promoting awareness about sustainable agriculture, horticulture, and environmentally responsible lifestyles. Officials said the second edition seeks to build on the success of the inaugural event by deepening citizen participation and showcasing best practices in green living.

During her review, the President was briefed on various arrangements made to ensure a seamless visitor experience, including crowd management, accessibility, safety measures, and information dissemination. Emphasis has been laid on creating an inclusive environment where families, students, farmers, and nature enthusiasts can engage meaningfully with the exhibits.

Celebration of India’s Green Traditions

The festival will celebrate India’s long-standing traditions of harmony with nature. Organisers have curated a blend of aesthetic displays and educational content to highlight sustainable practices rooted in both traditional wisdom and modern innovation.

Visitors will be able to explore enhanced seasonal flower beds, curated floral installations, and newly upgraded garden spaces within the Rashtrapati Nilayam परिसर. Special selfie points and landscaped zones have been designed to encourage visitors to interact with the natural surroundings while spreading awareness through social media engagement.

Interactive Exhibits and Learning Zones

Beyond visual appeal, Udyan Utsav 2026 will feature a wide range of agriculture and horticulture-themed stalls. These stalls will host live demonstrations, showcasing modern farming techniques, organic cultivation methods, water conservation practices, and climate-resilient crops.

Eco-craft workshops and interactive knowledge zones will allow visitors to gain hands-on experience and practical insights. According to officials, these learning spaces are designed to inspire citizens—especially young visitors—to adopt environmentally responsible habits in their daily lives.

Rashtrapati Nilayam as a Public Space

Rashtrapati Nilayam, the President’s official retreat in Hyderabad, has increasingly been positioned as a cultural and civic space open to the public during designated periods. Hosting Udyan Utsav at the historic campus reinforces the vision of making Rashtrapati Bhavan and its associated estates more accessible to citizens.

The initiative aligns with the broader outreach efforts of the President’s Secretariat to foster transparency, public participation, and environmental consciousness.

Focus on Community Engagement

Officials noted that Udyan Utsav is not merely an exhibition but a platform for dialogue between experts, practitioners, and the public. Community engagement remains a central theme, with activities designed to spark conversations on food security, sustainable livelihoods, and environmental stewardship.

With free entry and extended visiting hours, the festival is expected to attract a large and diverse footfall. Adequate arrangements have been made to ensure that the experience remains informative, safe, and enjoyable for all visitors.

Looking Ahead

The President’s review of preparations marks the final phase before the festival opens to the public. Officials expressed confidence that the second edition of Udyan Utsav will further strengthen public awareness about sustainability while celebrating India’s vibrant agricultural and horticultural legacy.

As Hyderabad prepares to host the event, Udyan Utsav 2026 is poised to become a significant cultural and educational highlight at the start of the new year, bringing citizens closer to nature in the heart of Rashtrapati Nilayam.
