Navroz – A Festival of Renewal and Hope
Navroz, celebrated by the Parsi community, marks the start of a new year according to the Shahenshahi calendar. It is a time for family gatherings, prayers, and sharing festive meals. The festival is deeply symbolic, representing fresh beginnings, prosperity, and harmony.
In her message, President Murmu said, “Navroz symbolises renewal, hope, and prosperity. This important festival is an occasion to celebrate our rich cultural heritage.”

The President praised the Parsi community for its remarkable spirit of enterprise and its commitment to public welfare. She highlighted their role in shaping India’s industrial growth, philanthropy, and cultural richness.
From establishing renowned industries to supporting educational and healthcare initiatives, the Parsis have made lasting contributions to India’s progress. Their legacy blends tradition with modernity while maintaining a strong community bond.

Navroz celebrations take place in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and other cities with significant Parsi populations. Homes are decorated with floral patterns, tables are filled with traditional dishes, and prayers are offered at Fire Temples. The atmosphere is filled with joy and community spirit.
