She urged them to remain grounded in values that define good governance. Integrity, she said, must be the cornerstone of their careers.
Indian Corporate Law Officers: Guardians of Fair Business
While addressing officers of the Indian Corporate Law Service, the President emphasized the strategic role of the corporate sector in India’s economic journey. With India aiming for a $5 trillion economy, ICLS officers are expected to facilitate business transparency, investor confidence, and corporate accountability.
“You are guardians of the rules that help honest businesses grow.”
She encouraged them to ensure that companies comply with legal frameworks. At the same time, she asked them to create a climate where entrepreneurship and innovation flourish without fear or confusion.
Labour Officers: Advocates of Workers’ Rights and Harmony
Turning to the probationers of the Central Labour Service, President Murmu acknowledged the complexity of their responsibilities. She explained how CLS officers operate at the intersection of law, human dignity, and economic productivity.
“You ensure workers are treated fairly. You also help resolve disputes peacefully.”
She described their work as a blend of enforcement and empathy. CLS officers must not only uphold labour laws but also foster harmonious industrial relations. She stressed the importance of mediation, dignity in employment, and promoting inclusive workplace policies.
Defence Quality Officers: Upholding Standards, Safeguarding India
For the probationers of the Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service, the President offered a strong message on national defence and strategic preparedness.
“Quality in defence is not just technical—it’s about safety, strength, and national readiness.”
She said DAQAS officers are responsible for ensuring that every military aviation product, whether locally made or imported, meets global quality and airworthiness standards. This, she explained, directly supports India’s defence self-reliance (Atmanirbharta) and reduces dependence on foreign systems.
She also encouraged collaboration with private defence enterprises, saying their integration into the national security ecosystem is vital for achieving strategic depth and indigenous capability.

President Murmu concluded with a heartfelt message to all the officers. She reminded them that their attitudes, decisions, and values will shape India’s future. Public service is not just a job—it is a mission to serve the people and build a stronger, inclusive India.
