President Murmu Opens Amrit Udyan; Public Entry from Feb 3

RR Team, February 1, 2026February 1, 2026
President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu on Saturday graced the opening of the Amrit Udyan Winter Annuals Edition 2026 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, marking the beginning of another season of public access to one of the country’s most iconic and carefully curated gardens. The Amrit Udyan will be open for public viewing from February 3 to March 31, 2026, with free entry through mandatory online booking.

According to official information released by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the garden will remain open six days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with the last entry permitted at 5 p.m. Mondays will remain closed for maintenance, and the garden will also be shut on March 4 on account of Holi.

Free Entry with Online Booking Only

Entry to Amrit Udyan is completely free of cost for all visitors. However, the Rashtrapati Bhavan Secretariat has made online booking mandatory this year, discontinuing on-the-spot ticket registration to streamline crowd management and enhance visitor experience.

Visitors can book their slots exclusively through the official portal visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in. Booking for a specific date will close at 10 a.m. on the previous day, and visitors are advised to plan well in advance and strictly follow the time slots mentioned on their tickets.

Special Visiting Days for Select Categories

In addition to regular public access days, the Amrit Udyan will host special viewing days reserved for specific groups. March 3 has been earmarked for Defence Personnel, while March 5 will be dedicated to Senior Citizens.

Women and Tribal Women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will be welcomed on March 10, and March 13 has been designated for Divyangjan. These special days aim to promote inclusive access and ensure a comfortable experience for different sections of society.

Entry Gate, Shuttle Services, and Visitor Route

All visitors will enter and exit through Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate, located near the intersection of North Avenue and Rashtrapati Bhavan. To facilitate smooth movement, a free shuttle bus service will operate from Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35.

The shuttle buses will run every 30 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the last bus from Central Secretariat departing at 4 p.m. The designated visitor route inside the garden includes Bal Vatika, Plumeria Garden, Banyan Garden, Bonsai Garden, Babbling Brook, Central Lawn, Long Garden, and the Circular Garden.

New Attractions and Visitor Facilities

This year’s edition features vibrant winter annuals, including tulips and multiple varieties of roses. Two major attractions introduced for visitors are the Babbling Brook, a cascading water stream, and the Banyan Garden, which includes reflexology pathways designed for a wellness-oriented walking experience.

Visitors are permitted to carry mobile phones, electronic keys, handbags, water bottles, and milk bottles for infants. Drinking water, toilet facilities, and first-aid and medical support will be available at various points along the public route.

More to See at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Alongside Amrit Udyan, visitors can also explore Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum from Tuesday to Sunday. The popular Change-of-Guard Ceremony continues to be held every Saturday at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
