President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate a two-day International Conference on Unani Medicine at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on February 11, coinciding with Unani Day. This annual event commemorates the birth anniversary of Hakim Ajmal Khan, a renowned Unani physician, educator, and freedom fighter. Organized by the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) under the Ministry of Ayush, the conference will focus on innovations in Unani medicine and its role in integrative healthcare solutions.
The conference will provide a platform for discussions on advancements in Unani medicine, featuring expert-led sessions, keynote addresses, and scientific discussions. A special exhibition will showcase innovations in Unani pharmaceuticals, research, and education. Delegates from various countries, including the USA, Iran, South Africa, Malaysia, and Bangladesh, will participate, fostering global collaboration in traditional and integrative medicine.
Several key publications by CCRUM will be released during the event, along with NABL and NABH certification awards for institutions. A short video on recent Unani medicine initiatives will be launched, and awards will be presented for outstanding research contributions and institutional performance. This landmark event aims to highlight Unani medicine’s potential in holistic healthcare and its growing role in global health and well-being.
