President Murmu to Visit Uttarakhand (Nov 2–4, 2025)

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, will undertake a three-day visit to Uttarakhand from November 2 to 4, 2025. During the trip, she will attend university convocations, address the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly on the occasion of the state’s silver jubilee, and visit a well-known spiritual site in the Kumaon hills.

Day 1 Haridwar: University of Patanjali Convocation

On November 2, the President will grace the second convocation of the University of Patanjali at Haridwar. The ceremony brings together graduates, faculty and dignitaries as the university marks academic milestones. The President’s presence underscores the central government’s recognition of educational events in the state.

Day 2 Dehradun & Nainital: Assembly Address and Raj Bhavan Event

November 3 will see President Murmu address a special session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in Dehradun as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of statehood. The address is scheduled amid broader foundation-week events that reflect on Uttarakhand’s 25-year journey since state formation.

Later the same day, the President will attend a function in Nainital to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Raj Bhavan’s establishment. The Raj Bhavan in Nainital is a heritage site and this event marks a notable milestone in the state’s colonial-era legacy.

Day 3  Kainchi Dham & Kumaun University Convocation

On November 4, President Murmu will visit the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram at Kainchi Dham — a place of spiritual significance in the region — before attending the 20th convocation of Kumaun University in Nainital. The visit blends ceremonial duties with a spiritual stop, reflecting both public and cultural engagements.

Why the visit matters

The President’s three-day itinerary aligns with state celebrations marking 25 years since Uttarakhand’s formation. High-level visits at such milestones typically spotlight educational institutions, heritage sites and the state’s development narrative. Local officials and security agencies have been preparing to host the President’s engagements across Haridwar, Dehradun and Nainital.
