President Murmu’s Janmashtami Message Inspires Unity & Dharma
Janmashtami, celebrated across India with joy and devotion, marks the birth of Lord Krishna — a symbol of wisdom, compassion, and righteousness. The President reminded people that Krishna’s life and philosophy continue to guide humanity in navigating challenges with moral strength and spiritual awareness.
Teachings of Lord Krishna as Guiding Light
President Murmu emphasised that Lord Krishna’s message of Dharma remains relevant in today’s times. She noted that his teachings in the Bhagavad Gita highlight the importance of duty, self-discipline, and the pursuit of truth. “This festival inspires us to adopt eternal values embodied by Yogeshwar Shri Krishna,” she said.
Calling for unity, she urged citizens to pledge to follow Krishna’s principles for building a stronger and more harmonious society. “On this occasion let us all take a pledge to follow the teachings of Bhagwan Shri Krishna and make our society and nation stronger,” her statement read.

A Festival of Faith and Joy

Janmashtami celebrations in India are marked by devotional songs, dance, enactments of Krishna’s childhood, and the famous Dahi Handi festivities. Beyond rituals, the day carries a deeper spiritual significance — reminding devotees to overcome ego, greed, and injustice while embracing truth and compassion.
The festival also highlights the timeless message of harmony and self-realisation, encouraging people to rise above material distractions and live a life rooted in ethics. As President Murmu noted, Krishna’s teachings are not only spiritual but also practical for personal growth and nation-building.
Janmashtami and National Identity
By connecting cultural celebrations with moral responsibility, the President’s message reflects how Indian festivals strengthen the country’s social fabric. Observances like Janmashtami serve as reminders of shared values, bridging generations and communities through devotion and cultural pride.
As India prepares for nationwide celebrations, the President’s words underline the importance of spiritual teachings in building resilience, compassion, and unity. Citizens across the country and abroad are expected to join in festivities, reaffirming their commitment to Lord Krishna’s eternal message.
