Prime Minister Modi Unveils Development Projects Worth ₹48,520 Crore in Bihar, Expresses Deep Commitment to State’s Progress

RR Team, May 30, 2025May 30, 2025

Karakat, Bihar – In a major boost to the development trajectory of Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone and dedicated numerous transformative projects worth over ₹48,520 crore, reaffirming his government’s deep commitment to the progress, security, and welfare of the people. Speaking to an emotional and enthusiastic crowd, the Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support and affection he has received from the people of Bihar.

In a speech resonating with both strength and compassion, Prime Minister Modi recalled the painful loss of innocent lives in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He reassured the nation that justice had been delivered swiftly. “Those who sat across the border and destroyed the sindoor of our sisters have been met with a fate they never imagined,” he declared. “The world has now seen the power of India’s daughters,” he added, referring to the successful retaliation led by Indian forces. The Prime Minister paid tribute to the bravery of the BSF, especially honoring Sub-Inspector Imtiaz, a son of Bihar who was martyred in the line of duty.

The Prime Minister addressed the dark legacy of Maoist violence that once loomed over Bihar, acknowledging the fear and hardships faced by many in regions like Sasaram and Kaimur. “Before 2014, more than 125 districts across India were affected by Naxalism. Today, only 18 remain,” he stated, stressing that peace and development have steadily reclaimed these areas. He credited the consistent efforts of the state and central governments and promised that the day is not far when Maoist violence will be completely eradicated.

In a series of heartfelt announcements, the Prime Minister spoke of Bihar’s long-standing demands that are finally being fulfilled. He shared that the long-awaited modernization of Patna Airport’s terminal has now become a reality, with the new facility capable of handling one crore passengers annually. He also highlighted major investments in Bihta Airport and the expansion of road and rail infrastructure that is connecting Bihar more efficiently to the rest of the country.

Among the landmark projects are four-lane and six-lane highways, new bridges across major rivers, and world-class rail upgrades, including the introduction of Vande Bharat trains and multi-tracking between Son Nagar and Andal. “These are not just roads and tracks; they are lifelines connecting people to progress and prosperity,” he said.

Highlighting the government’s vision for inclusive growth, Prime Minister Modi spoke about the establishment of the Makhana Board and the granting of GI tag to Bihar’s famous Makhana, which is transforming the lives of local farmers. He also mentioned the massive NTPC thermal power plant being constructed in Nabinagar with an investment of ₹30,000 crore, set to provide 1,500 megawatts of electricity and fuel Bihar’s growth.

Taking a strong yet sympathetic tone, the Prime Minister reflected on the historic neglect of Bihar by previous regimes. He criticized the past exploitation of Bihar’s youth through corruption in recruitment processes and accused former governments of showcasing the state’s poverty instead of solving it. “Those who claimed to stand for social justice left Dalits and backward communities without even basic facilities,” he said, calling out the hypocrisy of past leaders who, he claimed, used slogans of justice but denied dignity.

Yet, the Prime Minister emphasized hope over grievance. He detailed the success of welfare schemes under his government, including the provision of over four crore houses, tap water to 12 crore households, free medical treatment for senior citizens, and the empowering of three crore women through the Lakhpati Didi initiative. “Our government stands with every poor and underprivileged citizen,” he affirmed, noting that Bihar has launched the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan to ensure 100% delivery of government benefits.

The Prime Minister concluded with a call for unity and resolve in building a “Viksit Bihar” – a developed Bihar envisioned by icons like Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Karpoori Thakur, Babu Jagjivan Ram, and Jayaprakash Narayan. “When Bihar rises, India rises,” he said, expressing confidence that the combined efforts of the people and the government will carry the state to greater heights.

The event was graced by several key dignitaries, including Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Union Ministers Jitan Ram Manji, Giriraj Singh, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Chirag Paswan, Nityanand Rai, and others.

In a day filled with emotion, promise, and pride, the people of Bihar witnessed not just the launch of projects, but the reaffirmation of a vision that places their dreams, dignity, and development at the heart of India’s future.
