Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches Railway Projects and Enhances Connectivity in Jharkhand

RR Team, September 15, 2024September 15, 2024

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a series of significant railway projects in Tatanagar, Jharkhand, with a total investment exceeding Rs 660 crore. Through a video conference, he laid the foundation for these initiatives and flagged off six new Vande Bharat trains, aiming to improve regional connectivity. Additionally, the Prime Minister distributed sanction letters to 32,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) and released the first installment of Rs 32 crore in aid. He also celebrated Griha Pravesh with 46,000 new homeowners.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi expressed his reverence for the region’s cultural heritage, acknowledging the significance of Karma Parv, a festival dedicated to nature worship, and his warm reception at the Ranchi airport. He emphasized Jharkhand’s potential to become a leading state in India and affirmed the government’s commitment to its development.

Modi highlighted the impact of the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ philosophy in reshaping national priorities, focusing on the needs of the underprivileged and marginalized communities. He noted the rising demand for Vande Bharat trains and their role in enhancing regional connectivity, citing the introduction of new trains as a boost for tourism and economic growth.

The Prime Minister detailed the benefits of expanding rail infrastructure in Eastern India, including the Madhupur Bypass line and the Hazaribagh Town Coaching Depot, which will streamline train operations and support local industries. He praised Jharkhand for its progress in railway electrification and the ongoing station revitalization under the Amrit Bharat Railway Station scheme.

In addition to railway advancements, Modi underscored the importance of housing projects under PMAY-G, emphasizing how new homes contribute to self-confidence and future stability for beneficiaries. He also acknowledged the creation of jobs in both urban and rural areas through these initiatives.

Addressing the efforts for tribal communities through the PM Janman Yojana, Modi reiterated the government’s dedication to improving living conditions in the most backward regions. He concluded by expressing his regret for not being able to attend the event in person due to weather-related flight constraints and conveyed his hope that the projects will significantly benefit Jharkhand.

Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Gangwar, and Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, were also present during the event.

The Prime Minister’s visit marked the launch of several major railway projects, including the Madhupur Bypass line and Hazaribagh Town Coaching Depot. These developments aim to alleviate train congestion, reduce travel times, and enhance overall railway efficiency. Additionally, the Kurkura-Kanaroan line doubling and the introduction of four road underbridges will improve safety and traffic flow. The distribution of PMAY-G sanction letters and the Griha Pravesh ceremonies further highlight the government’s commitment to housing and community welfare.
