Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep gratitude for completing 23 years as a head of government. Reflecting on his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he emphasized that the state became a beacon of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, promoting prosperity across all segments of society. Looking back over the last decade, the Prime Minister noted that India’s developmental achievements have garnered significant global optimism. He reassured citizens of his unwavering commitment to work tirelessly until the collective vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) is realized.

I extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has sent their blessings and good wishes as I complete 23 years in government. On October 7, 2001, I took on the responsibility of serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. It was the greatness of my Party, @BJP4India, that entrusted a humble Karyakarta like me with the duty of heading the state administration.
When I assumed office as CM, Gujarat faced numerous challenges, including the 2001 Kutch Earthquake, a Super Cyclone, and a severe drought, compounded by decades of Congress misrule characterized by corruption, communalism, and casteism. Powered by the people’s strength, we rebuilt Gujarat and propelled it to new heights of progress, even in agriculture, an area where the state was not traditionally recognized.
During my 13 years as Chief Minister, Gujarat became a model of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, ensuring prosperity for all. In 2014, the people of India blessed my Party with a historic mandate, enabling me to serve as Prime Minister, marking the first time in 30 years that a party secured a full majority.
Over the past decade, we have tackled several challenges facing our nation. More than 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty. India is now the fifth-largest economy, benefitting sectors such as MSMEs and startups. New opportunities have emerged for hardworking farmers, women, youth, and marginalized communities.
India’s developmental progress has positioned our country as a beacon of optimism on the global stage. The world is eager to engage with us, invest in our future, and share in our success. Simultaneously, India is actively addressing global challenges, including climate change, healthcare improvements, and the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
While we have achieved much over the years, there is still work to be done. The lessons learned during these 23 years have led to pioneering initiatives that have made a national and global impact. I assure my fellow Indians that I will continue to work tirelessly, with even greater vigor in service of the people. I will not rest until we achieve our collective goal of a Viksit Bharat.
