Prof. Baghel Leads Cleanliness & Tree Drive at AQCS

RR Team, October 30, 2025October 31, 2025
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, organized a cleanliness drive on October 29, 2025 at the Animal Quarantine & Certification Services (AQCS), New Delhi. The initiative was held as part of Special Campaign 5.0 and was led by Union Minister of State Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel.
Prof. Baghel, accompanied by Secretary DAHD Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar and other senior officials, inspected the AQCS facilities and commended the team for maintaining high standards of hygiene and infrastructure. He emphasized that AQCS plays a crucial role as India’s “gateway for healthy animal imports,” ensuring scientific quarantine and health verification of all consignments entering the country.

Commitment to Cleanliness and Efficiency

The cleanliness drive saw enthusiastic participation from AQCS officers and staff, who undertook sweeping, waste segregation, and systematic reorganization of workspace areas. The department also disposed of obsolete files and materials to enhance operational efficiency. Under Special Campaign 5.0, DAHD achieved remarkable progress in pending file disposal, review processes, and site cleaning activities across multiple offices nationwide.

According to official figures, the department generated ₹5,54,753 through the sale of scrap and redundant materials. The initiative also met or surpassed several key targets, including 221 cleanliness sites completed and 24,645 physical files reviewed. The campaign focused on reducing administrative bottlenecks while promoting environmental responsibility among government offices.

‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Initiative

A tree plantation ceremony was also organized under the national initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. Prof. Baghel personally planted a sapling, symbolizing the campaign’s core message — honoring motherhood and nurturing the environment. The event resonated with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE)” that encourages citizens to adopt sustainable practices.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Baghel highlighted the urgent need for collective environmental action amid growing concerns about climate change. “Every citizen must contribute to building a greener and cleaner India,” he said, urging officials and staff to adopt tree planting as a personal and institutional responsibility.

Continuing the Mission of Clean Governance

Under Special Campaign 5.0, DAHD continues to prioritize transparency, accountability, and sustainability. The initiative aims to create efficient workspaces, reduce environmental impact, and encourage citizen participation in Swachh Bharat-related activities.
