RailOne App: Unified Railway Services in One Click

On the 40th Foundation Day of CRIS, the Indian Railways launched its most ambitious digital initiative yet — the RailOne App. Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the app at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, marking a major leap in delivering integrated and user-centric services to passengers across the country.

One App, Many Services

The RailOne mobile app is designed as a one-stop digital gateway for all passenger services. From booking unreserved UTS tickets via R-Wallet (with a 3% discount) to live train tracking and grievance redressal — all are now available in one place.

The app is available for download on both Android Play Store and iOS App Store. It features:

  • Live train tracking and station status
  • Unreserved ticketing (UTS) with integrated wallet
  • Grievance management and feedback
  • Booking for e-catering, porters, and last-mile taxis
  • Biometric and mPIN login support

Reserved ticket bookings will continue through IRCTC. However, RailOne is IRCTC-authorised, just like other licensed commercial travel apps.

Simplifying Passenger Experience

Earlier, users had to download multiple railway-related apps. Now, RailOne’s lightweight design offers all services in one platform. It even allows single-sign-on access using UTS and RailConnect credentials.

This move aligns with  PM Modi’s Vision of a digitally inclusive Bharat , enhancing convenience for millions of daily and occasional travelers.

Modernizing Passenger Reservation System (PRS)

In his address, the Railway Minister also emphasized the need for digital transformation. He highlighted that by December 2025, Indian Railways will roll out a new and improved Passenger Reservation System (PRS).

This modern PRS will support:

  • Agile and scalable infrastructure
  • Multilingual user interfaces
  • Booking speeds of 1.5 lakh tickets per minute
  • Query handling up to 40 lakh per minute
  • Inclusive design for Divyangjan, students, and patients

It will also include advanced seat selection, fare calendar, and customized ticketing preferences, making railway bookings as smooth as flight portals.

Digital Bharat on the Tracks

RailOne is not just a digital tool. It is part of India’s broader commitment to make public transport smarter, faster, and more accessible. With CRIS leading the backend innovation and IRCTC’s support on ticketing, this new platform represents the future of mobility in India.

Passengers will no longer need to juggle apps for different services. Whether it’s booking a porter, checking train status, or ordering food, it can all now be done on one screen.

Conclusion

RailOne brings India’s vast railway network to your fingertips. It empowers passengers, bridges service gaps, and creates a seamless travel experience.

As India accelerates toward Digital 2047, RailOne could become a blueprint for other public transport platforms, making Indian Railways not just the world’s largest, but also the smartest.
