Rajasthan hosted the Regional AI Impact Conference bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, startups, and academia to explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across governance, infrastructure, and workforce development. The conference serves as a prelude to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from 15-20 February 2026.

Centre-State Collaboration for AI Growth

The event witnessed participation from Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan; Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Electronics & IT (attending virtually); Shri Jitin Prasada, MoS for Electronics & IT; and Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Cabinet Minister for IT & Communication, Rajasthan. Their involvement underscored the strong Centre–State collaboration in positioning Rajasthan as a hub for AI-driven development.

Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized that AI is poised to bring a transformation comparable to the Industrial Revolution, democratizing technology so that AI benefits reach every individual, household, and enterprise. A programme was launched to train 1 million young people in AI skills, equipping India’s youth for the new technological era.

Shri Jitin Prasada highlighted the government’s ₹10,000 crore investment under the India AI Mission to leverage AI across sectors like agriculture, healthcare, education, and the environment, promoting inclusive growth and improving citizens’ quality of life.

Rajasthan’s AI and ML Policy 2026

Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma introduced the Rajasthan AI/ML Policy 2026, aimed at fostering transparent, fair, and accountable AI systems. The policy promotes AI-enabled citizen-centric governance, innovation-driven economic growth, and high-value employment opportunities. The launch was complemented by the state’s AI portal and iStart Learning Management System (LMS) to support skills, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Additionally, the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal was unveiled to strengthen the Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality ecosystem. An AI-themed video showcasing India’s and Rajasthan’s AI vision was also released during the event.

Strategic Partnerships and Knowledge Exchange

Rajasthan signed MoUs with Google, IIT Delhi, National Law University Jodhpur, and Skill Development Network (Wadhwani Foundation) to advance AI research, ethical frameworks, skilling, and innovation ecosystems. High-level discussions led by Shri Abhishek Singh (MeitY) and Shri Vishal Dhupar (NVIDIA) explored democratization of AI infrastructure, public-private collaboration, and global AI safety standards.

Shri Avinash Sharma, IIT Jodhpur, emphasized the importance of regional research institutions in shaping context-aware, globally relevant AI solutions. Parallel thematic sessions examined AI applications in governance, infrastructure, innovation, ethics, and employment.

Building Inclusive and Responsible AI

The Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference marks a significant milestone in India’s AI journey, reinforcing the government’s commitment to leveraging AI for public good, sustainable development, and inclusive economic growth. Through strategic initiatives and skill-building programs, Rajasthan is positioned as a key contributor to India’s AI-led future.
