Rajasthan Inaugurates First ‘Namo Biodiversity Park’

RR Team, October 6, 2025October 6, 2025

Rajasthan Inaugurates First ‘Namo Biodiversity Park’ in Alwar

Rajasthan celebrated a significant milestone in environmental conservation today as Union Environment Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav inaugurated the state’s first ‘Namo Biodiversity Park’ at Pratap Bandh, Alwar. The event featured a symbolic tree plantation ceremony, highlighting the park’s role as a green lung for the region and a center for promoting biodiversity awareness.

Key Dignitaries and Inauguration Ceremony

The inauguration was attended by Shri Sanjay Sharma, Cabinet Minister of the Government of Rajasthan, alongside local officials and community representatives. In his social media post on ‘X’, Shri Bhupender Yadav emphasized that the park, also referred to as ‘NAMO VAN’, will serve as a hub for environmental education and public engagement in sustainable practices.

Ecological and Social Significance

The newly developed park is designed to improve local greenery and contribute to cleaner air while serving as a space for citizens to connect with nature. By integrating eco-friendly landscaping and conservation-focused facilities, the park aims to foster environmental awareness and encourage visitors to adopt sustainable lifestyles.

Shri Yadav noted that the initiative aligns with India’s broader climate action goals and biodiversity conservation strategies, making it an important step toward strengthening the country’s green infrastructure.

Promoting Sustainable Living

Beyond its ecological benefits, the Namo Biodiversity Park aims to inspire community participation in environmental protection. The park will host awareness programs, educational workshops, and guided tours to encourage citizens, especially youth, to actively engage in preserving natural habitats and promoting sustainable practices in their daily lives.

Officials highlighted that such initiatives contribute to long-term ecological balance, support local wildlife, and enhance public understanding of biodiversity’s critical role in climate resilience.

Looking Ahead

The development of the Namo Biodiversity Park sets a precedent for similar green infrastructure projects across Rajasthan and India. It represents a model for combining urban planning, environmental stewardship, and community engagement to address challenges like air pollution, deforestation, and habitat loss.

As the park opens its doors to the public, it is expected to become a landmark destination for nature lovers, environmental enthusiasts, and educational institutions, promoting both ecological health and public well-being.
