Rajasthan Police Welcomes 8,000 New Constables Under Amit Shah

Jaipur: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, today addressed the appointment letter distribution ceremony for newly recruited Rajasthan Police constables. Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma and other dignitaries were present during the event.

Merit-Based Recruitment and Women Representation

Over 8,000 youths joined the Rajasthan Police today, with more than 2,500 women among them. The recruitment process was conducted without bribes or recommendations, reflecting transparency and the Modi Government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. Amit Shah emphasized that progress in the state is achievable only when merit is respected, a model Rajasthan has successfully implemented.

Modernization and Law & Order Initiatives

The Home Minister highlighted key reforms, including the formation of the Anti-Gangster Task Force, integration of the Abhay Command Centre with CCTNS, ERSS-112, and ICJS, the launch of the Kalika Patrolling Unit, and a new Cyber Helpline for cybercrime prevention. These initiatives aim to strengthen law enforcement, modernize policing, and ensure the safety of citizens across the state.

Crime Reduction and Governance Achievements

Shri Shah noted significant improvements in law and order after the Bhajan Lal government took office. Crimes have decreased by 14%, with serious crimes dropping 19%. Murders are down 25%, attempts to murder 19%, atrocities against women 10%, atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes 28%, dacoity 47%, and robberies 51%. These statistics demonstrate that strong, transparent governance directly impacts public safety.

Historic Reforms and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita

The newly appointed constables will be the first batch to join Rajasthan Police after implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, replacing colonial-era criminal laws. The new legal framework emphasizes protection of citizens’ rights, incorporates technology, and connects all five pillars of the criminal justice system online—police, prosecution, jail, Forensic Science Laboratories, and courts.

Rajasthan: A Growing Investment and Development Hub

Shri Shah emphasized that the state’s development, investment growth, and improved law and order reflect the success of transparent governance under PM Modi. Rajasthan is now a leading destination for investment, with infrastructure, security, and administration creating a favorable environment for businesses and citizens alike.
