Raksha Mantri to Inaugurate National Conclave 2025

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate the National Conclave 2025 organized by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW), Ministry of Defence, on September 29-30. Themed ‘Viksit Bharat and Ex-Servicemen Welfare’, the conclave aims to strengthen support for India’s veterans and facilitate their reintegration into society.
Secretary of DESW, Dr. Niten Chandra, will also be present at the event, which will assemble representatives from Rajya Sainik Boards (RSBs) and Zila Sainik Boards (ZSBs) across the country. The platform will encourage sharing of best practices, policy discussions, and collaborative efforts to enhance welfare mechanisms for ex-servicemen.

Focus on Veteran Welfare and Grassroots Engagement

The conclave will serve as a key platform for meaningful dialogue at the grassroots level. Representatives from RSBs and ZSBs will engage in discussions to identify challenges and share solutions aimed at improving welfare delivery systems. The objective is to ensure that government schemes reach every veteran effectively and efficiently.

“This event is a critical opportunity to align our policies with the needs of ex-servicemen, ensuring that they are recognized as integral partners in building a Viksit Bharat,” noted DESW sources. The conclave will also facilitate knowledge exchange on innovative support mechanisms, including health, education, and skill development initiatives for veterans.

Recognition Ceremony to Honour Dedication

Alongside policy deliberations, the National Conclave will host a recognition ceremony. Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will felicitate distinguished individuals as well as top-performing RSBs and ZSBs for their outstanding contributions in ex-servicemen welfare. This recognition aims to motivate other stakeholders to enhance their efforts in supporting veterans.

The awards are expected to spotlight exceptional initiatives and innovative practices that have positively impacted veterans, thereby promoting a culture of excellence and accountability across the country.

Building a Stronger Support Network

By bringing together policymakers, veterans’ representatives, and administrative bodies, the conclave seeks to create a unified vision for ex-servicemen welfare. Initiatives discussed are expected to include streamlining benefits, improving rehabilitation programs, and expanding outreach to underserved regions.

The National Conclave 2025 marks an important milestone in India’s ongoing commitment to honouring its veterans, reinforcing their role in nation-building, and fostering a sense of community among ex-servicemen and their families.
