Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth to Lead Indian Delegation at LIMA 2025, Strengthening India-Malaysia Defence Ties

In a significant move to strengthen defence and strategic ties with Malaysia, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth will lead the Indian delegation at the 17th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025), scheduled to be held from May 20 to 24 in Langkawi, Malaysia. The event marks another milestone in the deepening of India-Malaysia relations, particularly in the field of defence cooperation.

An Indian Pavilion will be set up at the exhibition, showcasing the growing capabilities and achievements of India’s defence sector. Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth will inaugurate the pavilion, which will feature leading Defence Public Sector Undertakings such as Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Bharat Dynamics Limited, BEML, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, and Gliders India Limited, along with private sector defence companies. These organisations will present a wide array of indigenous technologies, underscoring India’s increasing self-reliance and innovation in defence manufacturing.

In a proud representation of India’s operational strength, assets such as the Dornier aircraft and an Indian Naval Ship will participate in LIMA 2025, reflecting India’s commitment to maritime security and regional cooperation. On the sidelines of the event, Shri Sanjay Seth is expected to meet Malaysian Minister of Defence Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, where both leaders will discuss ways to further bolster defence collaboration within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established during the Malaysian Prime Minister’s visit to India in 2024.

India and Malaysia share a long-standing and dynamic relationship, rooted in mutual respect and cooperation. Their partnership spans across several critical sectors, with defence and security emerging as key pillars. This visit and India’s participation in LIMA 2025 not only reflect the shared commitment to regional stability and technological advancement but also reaffirm the mutual aspiration for a safer and stronger Indo-Pacific region.

Since its inception in 1991, LIMA has grown to become one of the most prestigious maritime and aerospace exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific. India’s strong presence this year is a testament to its growing global role and the strides it continues to make in defence innovation and diplomacy.
