RR Team, October 13, 2025October 13, 2025
New Delhi, 13 October 2025: The Robotics for Good Youth Challenge India 2025 concluded at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention Centre, during the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025. Hosted by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the event celebrated youth innovation in AI and robotics, with a focus on addressing global challenges like food security.

Shri Chakrabarti Emphasises Youth-Led Innovation

Shri Deb Kumar Chakrabarti, Member (Services), Digital Communications Commission, highlighted the need for India to lead in AI and robotics. He urged building capabilities among young innovators, stating, “The Food and Agriculture Organization and ITU together have announced Robotics for Good Youth Challenge for a noble cause to eradicate hunger from the world.”

The event was inaugurated alongside Dr. Bilel Jamoussi, Deputy to the Director and Chief of Telecommunication Standardisation Bureau, ITU.

Winners and Achievements

The competition featured Junior and Senior categories, awarding the top three positions and recognizing the most innovative robots. In the Junior Category, Team Heyansh from Playto Labs, Bengaluru, was declared the champion and will represent India at the Global Grand Finale in Geneva, Switzerland, in July 2026. The Senior Category was won by The Ambitious Avengers from Sant Atulanand Convent School, Varanasi, making them back-to-back champions.

Other notable winners included Team Robo Knights Junior, Team Naitik, Team Aarav, and Team Code, with special recognition for creativity and innovation. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from DoT, ITU, and IIT Delhi, applauding participants for their teamwork and ingenuity.

Showcasing Robotics for Social Good

The challenge invited students aged 10–18 to design AI and robotics solutions addressing food security and sustainable development. Participants from 55 teams across India, totaling 271 innovators, demonstrated their skills in creating robots capable of solving real-world challenges. The initiative aligns with ITU’s AI for Good programme and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event also featured a “Digital Safety for Youth” session by Ms. Diksha Dhiman, emphasizing responsible digital engagement, ethical technology use, and online safety for students from eight Indian states.

Global Ambitions and Future Prospects

Team Heyansh and The Ambitious Avengers will now represent India at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, competing among 25 countries. The Robotics for Good Youth Challenge India 2025 demonstrated India’s commitment to nurturing ethical, technology-driven innovation for societal benefit.

The collaboration between DoT, ITU, IHFC, and IIT Delhi underlines the country’s focus on empowering youth, encouraging global partnerships, and advancing robotics, AI, and IoT technologies for social good.
