New Delhi, 13 October 2025: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) actively participated in the Vedanta Half Marathon 2025 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, demonstrating its commitment to public awareness and youth engagement. The event saw a contingent of 26 RPF personnel, including five women officials, representing the force under the leadership of Smt. Kamaljot Brar, IG/Construction/Northern Railway.

Operation NARCOS: Raising Awareness Against Drugs

The RPF contingent ran under the theme “Operation NARCOS: RPF Against Drug Trafficking”, highlighting the force’s ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking through the railway network. The initiative aims to educate and empower youth, encouraging them to avoid substance abuse and contribute to building a drug-free society.

Ms. Sonali Mishra, IPS, Director General of RPF, emphasized that the participation in such public events reflects the organization’s dual focus on physical fitness and social responsibility. The force continues to leverage public engagement to create awareness about pressing social issues while promoting discipline and teamwork among its personnel.

Promoting Fitness, Discipline, and Social Responsibility

The RPF contingent’s presence at the marathon underscores the organization’s commitment to fostering a culture of fitness, wellness, and civic responsibility. Participation in national events like the Vedanta Half Marathon also strengthens community ties and enhances the visibility of the force’s efforts to safeguard passengers and rail networks.

Through initiatives like “Operation NARCOS,” the RPF not only secures India’s railway system but also actively engages with the public to tackle societal challenges, contributing to the government’s broader goal of a safer, healthier, and more responsible youth population.
