Steel Contribution by SAIL
For this strategic infrastructure project, SAIL provided around 10,000 metric tons of high-grade R-260 Prime rails from its flagship Bhilai Steel Plant. An additional 5,000 metric tons of plates, TMT, and structural steel were supplied from SAIL’s Bokaro, Rourkela, Bhilai, Durgapur, and Burnpur plants, ensuring the highest quality standards for the railway’s construction.

The Bairabi-Sairang railway underscores India’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity. SAIL’s steel has played a crucial role in strengthening the project’s infrastructure, supporting seamless transport and economic development in Mizoram.
