Sarbananda Sonowal Inspires Students at Sreeram Academy, Emphasizes Youth Power and Knowledge for a Developed India

In a heartfelt address that resonated with hope and inspiration, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal emphasised the transformative role of youth and education in building a developed India. Speaking at the 20th Foundation Day celebration of Sreeram Academy Pathsala, the Minister shared his vision of “Yuva Shakti with the Power of Knowledge” as the driving force behind a Viksit Bharat.

The event, marked by enthusiasm and pride, brought together students, teachers, parents, alumni, and local dignitaries to celebrate two decades of academic excellence. Shri Sonowal, attending as the Chief Guest, urged students to look beyond textbooks and embrace innovative thinking. “Students must not confine themselves to textbooks alone; they should strive to introduce new ideas and innovative thinking,” he said, encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to society through creativity and critical thought.

 

He highlighted key national initiatives such as Digital India, Make in India, and Skill India, describing them as empowering tools that enable the younger generation to lead with confidence and purpose. “Knowledge is power, and students must acquire it and apply it effectively for the greater good,” he remarked, underlining the government’s commitment to nurturing youth potential.

 

Shri Sonowal also stressed the need for value-based education. He appealed to parents to instill moral values in their children and raise them as responsible citizens. In his address, he also spoke about the importance of integrating yoga and holistic health practices into daily life. “Yoga is not just physical exercise; it is a way of life that brings mental clarity and physical strength. It helps one stay focused, balanced, and healthy,” he said, reminding the audience of the benefits of a well-rounded lifestyle.

 

The celebration came alive with vibrant cultural performances by students, showcasing their talent through dance, music, and drama. Their spirited participation added a special touch to the milestone event and reflected the dynamic spirit of the institution.

 

Among the notable attendees were Phanidhar Talukdar, MLA of Bhawanipur Constituency, Shri Dhanpati Deka, Vice-Chancellor of Bhattadev University, Dr. Kakali Das, Principal of Sreeram Academy, and other esteemed guests, all of whom lauded the academy’s contributions to education and community development.
