Bhopal, July 12, 2025 – The city of Bhopal witnessed a proud and emotional moment for hundreds of youth today as Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan distributed appointment letters to selected candidates during the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Mela. This nationwide employment drive, held across 47 locations, marked the distribution of over 51,000 government job offers—a milestone in India’s employment mission under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A Golden Era for Employment in India
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan called PM Modi’s current tenure a “golden era” for employment. He stated that more than 25 crore Indians have risen above the poverty line in the last decade, a statistic that reflects India’s progress under visionary leadership.
He emphasized that the Rozgar Mela initiative is providing transparent, merit-based recruitment. “More than 10 lakh youth have already received appointment letters for direct government jobs,” he said.
Transparent and Merit-Based Hiring
The Bhopal Rozgar Mela event was part of the 16th nationwide drive. According to Shri Chouhan, 51,200 candidates across India were inducted into various government departments, including the Indian Railways, through a completely fair and transparent system.
“No influence, no corruption — only talent and merit decide your future,” he affirmed, reassuring the youth and their families that the government is committed to clean governance.
Youth: Partners in Building a Viksit Bharat
Shri Chouhan extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed candidates. He told them that their employment is not just a personal achievement — it is a responsibility. “You are now partners in the mission of building a Viksit Bharat,” he declared, inspiring the youth to serve the country with dedication and pride.
He also thanked Prime Minister Modi for his continued commitment to creating employment opportunities, especially for young Indians seeking secure and respectable careers.
Prime Minister Modi’s Virtual Address
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed Rozgar Mela participants virtually. He applauded the energy and commitment of India’s youth and reiterated his government’s resolve to offer meaningful employment opportunities through regular and transparent recruitment drives.
Employment and Economic Transformation
This mass recruitment initiative comes as part of India’s broader push toward becoming a global economic powerhouse. According to government data, over 10 lakh appointments have been made since 2022 under the Rozgar Mela programme.
India is witnessing a transformation in rural and urban employment patterns, with improved access to education, digital infrastructure, and financial inclusion. This is particularly relevant in states like Madhya Pradesh, where the Agriculture and Rural Development ministries are creating more structured employment pathways.
From Poverty to Progress: 25 Crore Stories of Change
Highlighting a remarkable statistic, Shri Chouhan shared that more than 25 crore Indians have moved above the poverty line in the last 10 years. This has been made possible through initiatives such as PMAY (housing), PM-KISAN (farm income), and PMGKAY (food security), among others.
These efforts not only lifted families from poverty but also created a foundation for sustained growth, especially in rural India.
Words of Encouragement for the Youth
As the event concluded, Shri Chouhan urged the new recruits not to rest after receiving their job letters. “This is just the beginning. The nation expects your best work, honesty, and innovation,” he said. He encouraged them to keep learning, upskill themselves, and make the most of digital tools and training programs provided by the government.
Rozgar Mela: A Promise to the Future
The Rozgar Mela is more than just a recruitment event. It is a promise. A promise that no hardworking youth will be left behind. A promise that the government stands with its people. And most importantly, a promise that India’s youth will be the driving force behind a Viksit Bharat.
