Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Padyatra’ Emphasizes Water Conservation and Rural Development

RR Team, May 26, 2025May 27, 2025

Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan engaged in heartfelt conversations with the people during the second day of the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Padyatra’ in the rural areas of Budhni Assembly constituency. Visiting villages like Bijla Jod, Chanda Grahan Jod, and Bhairunda, Shri Chauhan not only interacted closely with the beneficiaries of central government schemes but also immersed himself in the local culture by performing traditional tribal dance, strengthening the bond of trust and enthusiasm among the villagers.

During his interactions, Shri Chauhan spoke with the youth, praising Operation Sindoor and the bravery and valor of India’s armed forces. He discussed various welfare schemes such as the Street Vendor Scheme, Vishwakarma Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, water conservation initiatives, and women’s empowerment programs. His approach was not just to explain the benefits but also to emphasize that these schemes must reach every deserving individual.

A significant focus of Shri Chauhan’s visit was on water conservation. Participating in the Jal Jeevan Mission’s ‘Kalash Yatra,’ he took a pledge on stage urging the public to conserve water and use it wisely. He stressed that water is a precious treasure that must not be wasted and encouraged simple measures like recharging wells and tube wells and returning used water back to the earth to preserve this vital resource.

In his address, Shri Chauhan lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting India’s remarkable rise as the world’s fourth-largest economy—a historic achievement. He reminded that in 2014, India ranked 11th globally, but due to visionary policies and decisive leadership, the nation has surged ahead. He expressed confidence that India would soon surpass Germany to become the third-largest economy and ultimately emerge as number one in the world.

Shri Chauhan explained that the padyatra is meant to ignite a spark in every citizen to contribute to building a developed India. He announced the launch of the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Developed Agriculture Pledge Campaign) starting May 29, where teams of scientists will visit villages across the country to provide farmers with scientific advice tailored to their local agro-climatic conditions.

He emphasized that development can only be achieved when everyone—from government officials and elected representatives to farmers—fulfills their duties with honesty and dedication. His words reflected a deep commitment and belief that empowering every village is the true path toward a developed and self-reliant India.
