Shivraj Singh Chouhan Leads Tiranga Yatra, Promotes Swadeshi

RR Team, August 14, 2025August 14, 2025
Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan organized a grand Tiranga Yatra and Swadeshi March in his parliamentary constituency of Vidisha–Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, on 14 August 2025. The event celebrated patriotism, local entrepreneurship, and the spirit of Independence Day.
Before the march, Shri Chouhan celebrated Raksha Bandhan with members of local women’s self-help groups (SHGs). He emphasized the importance of women empowerment and local businesses in building a strong economy.

Celebrating Women’s Achievements

Addressing the gathering, Shri Chouhan highlighted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s initiative to support women entrepreneurs. He noted that over 3 crore women across India are set to become Lakhpati Didis, earning ₹1 lakh annually. Nearly 2 crore women have already achieved this milestone, with many on track to reach it ahead of schedule.

“Our sisters will now become Millionaire Didis along with Lakhpati Didis,” Shri Chouhan said, praising the efforts of SHGs in promoting local economic growth.

Promoting Swadeshi and National Pride

During the march, the minister urged citizens to pledge to buy only Made in India products. He encouraged people to support local markets, SHGs, and national manufacturers. “I pledge to buy only products that are made in India for my daily life, and I will urge everyone in my family, neighborhood, and village to do the same,” he said.

The event reinforced the Swadeshi movement as a key part of India’s economic and cultural identity. It coincided with Independence Day celebrations, inspiring citizens to honor the nation by supporting local businesses.

National Security and Patriotism

Shri Chouhan also addressed India’s foreign policy stance, particularly regarding Pakistan. He stated, “Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is ours and will always be ours.” He emphasized that India remains committed to protecting its territorial integrity.

The minister linked patriotism with local economic growth, urging citizens to take pride in national symbols like the Tricolour. “Our Tricolour is our pride, our honor, our identity,” he added, inspiring the crowd to celebrate Independence Day with renewed fervor.

Impact on Local Economy and SHGs

Events like these not only boost national pride but also strengthen local economies. SHGs in Vidisha have grown significantly under government schemes, providing women with sustainable income and entrepreneurial opportunities. By promoting Swadeshi, the minister reinforced the importance of self-reliance in both rural and urban areas.

According to government data, SHG participation has increased by over 25% in Madhya Pradesh in the last two years, showing the growing impact of grassroots economic initiatives. Citizens are increasingly motivated to buy local products, creating a cycle of growth and empowerment.

Conclusion

The Tiranga Yatra and Swadeshi March in Vidisha showcased a blend of patriotism, women empowerment, and economic self-reliance. Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s call to adopt Swadeshi and celebrate local entrepreneurship resonates with the vision of a strong, self-reliant India.

As citizens prepare to hoist the national flag on Independence Day, the event reinforced the importance of supporting local businesses, promoting women entrepreneurs, and maintaining national pride.
