Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Visit Maharashtra on November 7

RR Team, November 7, 2025November 7, 2025
Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will undertake a one-day visit to Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district on November 7. The visit aims to assess agricultural and rural development initiatives, review flood-affected regions, and engage directly with farmers and local communities.

Focus on Rural Development and Farmer Welfare

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s visit underscores the Union government’s commitment to strengthening grassroots development through continuous dialogue with farmers. The Minister will review the progress of central and state-run agricultural schemes, interact with beneficiaries, and ensure effective implementation of welfare programmes across rural Maharashtra.

He is expected to hold meetings with local administrative officials, agricultural officers, and representatives of farmer groups to discuss issues such as irrigation, crop insurance, and compensation for flood-related losses. The visit is part of the Ministry’s broader initiative to monitor real-time progress and collect feedback from on-ground stakeholders.

Key Stops During the Visit

The Minister will begin his day by arriving in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar by air, followed by a helicopter visit to Sirsala, where he will participate in a ‘Rudrabhishek’ and flag-hoisting ceremony at the Krishikul Institute. Later, he will engage in discussions with the GVT team and review agricultural activities and technological practices at the institute.

During his interaction with local farmers, Shri Chouhan will emphasize the importance of adopting sustainable agricultural practices, crop diversification, and government support schemes such as the PM-KISAN Yojana and MGNREGA. The session will also address challenges related to market linkages, fertilizer availability, and soil health management.

Assessment of Flood-Affected Regions

In the afternoon, Shri Chouhan will travel to Aranpur village to inspect a flood-damaged bridge and surrounding infrastructure. He will also visit Tapovan village to assess crop losses and meet affected families. His team will review the rehabilitation measures underway and coordinate with local authorities to expedite relief work.

The Minister’s visit to the Gharkul Housing Project will allow him to interact with beneficiary families and discuss the progress of rural housing schemes. These interactions aim to ensure that central assistance reaches the intended beneficiaries without delay.

Inspection of Infrastructure and Religious Sites

Later in the day, Shri Chouhan will visit the historic Hemadpanthi Mahadev Temple for prayers and review nearby areas affected by land erosion. He will inspect the damaged Khangaon–Tapovan road bridge and surrounding borewells to evaluate restoration needs.

The Union Minister will then return to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Airport in the evening and depart for Delhi, concluding his one-day inspection visit.

Part of Nationwide Rural Outreach

This Maharashtra visit is part of a larger national initiative where the Union Minister is conducting state-level reviews to engage directly with farming communities and rural households. The goal is to identify regional challenges, ensure faster implementation of central schemes, and strengthen the resilience of India’s rural economy.

Shri Chouhan’s field visits have been instrumental in bridging communication gaps between policymakers and farmers, allowing real-time policy feedback from the ground. His proactive engagement is aligned with the government’s vision to create a more inclusive, technology-driven, and sustainable rural development framework.
