Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, called on industry associations to engage more actively with startups and foster young leadership within their chambers. He also emphasized the importance of increasing the participation of women entrepreneurs in these associations.
Shri Goyal invoked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s philosophy of “Reform, Perform, and Transform,” urging participants to showcase India’s advancements to the world. He emphasized the need to communicate India’s leadership in clean energy and its innovations in fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. He further stressed the ambition for India to rise from the fifth to the third-largest global economy, calling for triple the energy and effort during Prime Minister Modi’s third term.
The Minister also spoke about the government’s initiatives to empower the nation’s youth, particularly through digital connectivity. He emphasized the importance of including the aspirational sections of society in the journey toward building a developed India by 2047. Shri Goyal encouraged industry associations to support the government’s efforts in skill development and job creation, especially for the youth, underlining that inclusiveness would be key to India’s success.
He also praised the Indian Chamber of Commerce for its focus on youth leadership and for representing a broad spectrum of sectors.
