Shri Scindia outlined India’s vision for postal modernization anchored in four principles: connect through seamless data-driven logistics, include by delivering affordable digital financial services, modernize with AI and DigiPIN solutions, and cooperate via South–South partnerships supported by UPU technical cells.
Highlighting India Post’s scale and inclusivity, he said, “With Aadhaar, Jan Dhan, and India Post Payments Bank, we have opened over 560 million accounts, most in women’s names. Last year alone, India Post delivered over 900 million letters and parcels. This is the spirit we bring to the global stage.”
Commitment to Global Postal Innovation
During his address, Shri Scindia announced a USD 10 million financial commitment to drive technology-led innovation in e-commerce and digital payments. Reiterating India’s motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” he underlined the country’s readiness to contribute resources, expertise, and partnership to strengthen the global postal ecosystem.
Additionally, India declared its candidature for the Council of Administration and the Postal Operations Council of the UPU, reaffirming its intent to foster a connected, inclusive, and sustainable future for the international postal community.
Global Collaboration and Seamless Commerce
Shri Scindia concluded his speech emphasizing partnership over proposals: “India comes to you not with proposals, but with partnership. We believe in resilience, enabling interoperable solutions that avoid costly fragmentation, and in trust, linking payments, identity, addressing, and logistics so that global commerce becomes seamless.”
The UPI–UPU Integration project is expected to significantly benefit migrants, small businesses, and digital enterprises globally, reinforcing India’s leadership in digital financial inclusion and cross-border technology cooperation.
