Steel import issues? Join Open House 29‑30 July

The Ministry of Steel will host an Open House meeting on 29–30 July 2025 in New Delhi. It’s a prime opportunity for steel importers to raise issues related to SIMS, QCOs and NOCs.

Why this Open House matters

SImports must comply with the Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS). They also need No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for certain grades 0.

Some importers face delays in approvals. This Open House aims to fix those issues directly. It shows the government’s commitment to transparency and efficiency.

Who can participate?

  • Steel companies
  • Industry associations (up to 15 participants)

They can discuss issues face-to-face with Ministry officials. No walk-ins are allowed. You must book a timeslot 1.

How to apply

Email tech‑steel@nic.in to request a slot. Include:

  1. Company or association name
  2. Issue type: SIMS, NOC, QCO, others
  3. Names & number of participants
  4. Preferred date: 29 or 30 July
  5. Reference number, if any
  6. Industry sector (Auto/Aerospace/Telecom/Defence etc.)
  7. Issue summary (≤50 words)
  8. Contact details of nodal person

The meeting runs from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM on both days 2. The ministry will confirm exact times via email.
