In Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor region, one terrorist was neutralized on Monday after an attack on an army convoy led to a counter-terror operation. The incident occurred when three terrorists reportedly opened fire on a convoy passing through a village near the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor, targeting an ambulance within the convoy. Following the attack, the terrorists fled toward a forested area nearby.
This incident comes amid a rise in attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Just days prior, on October 24, two porters working with the Army were killed, and four others, including three soldiers, were injured in an attack near Gulmarg. Additionally, a deadly attack on October 20 in Ganderbal district claimed the lives of a doctor and six laborers at a tunnel construction site along the Srinagar-Leh highway.
The recent surge in violence has raised serious concerns among security forces and political leaders. In response, Union Home Minister Amit Shah condemned the attacks, promising that those responsible would face stringent action.
