A tragic helicopter crash occurred this morning near Bavdhan, Pune, claiming the lives of three individuals. The helicopter went down shortly after takeoff, though it remains unclear whether it was a government or private chopper. Onboard were two pilots and an engineer.
According to Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad police, the crash happened in a hilly area around 6:45 am. Senior Inspector Kanhaiya Thorat, as reported by PTI, stated that initial reports suggested two fatalities, though the exact ownership of the helicopter is still under investigation.
Local reports indicate that the helicopter took off from the helipad at Oxford Golf Club, and poor visibility due to dense fog is suspected to have contributed to the crash. Rescue efforts are currently in progress.
