TRAI Releases Mobile Network Quality Report for Rewari

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the findings of its Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted across Rewari City in Haryana during July-August 2025, providing consumers with a detailed assessment of mobile network quality.
The survey, carried out by TRAI’s appointed agency under the supervision of the Regional Office in Jaipur, aimed to evaluate real-world performance of voice and data services provided by telecom operators. The testing spanned 250.7 km of city drives, eight hotspot locations, and a 1.1 km walk test across Rewari, including areas like Lakhnor, Gokalghar, Saharanwas, Kanmajara, Bawal, Uttam Nagar, Bharawas, Shabajpur, Jalalpur, Jaliawas, Banipur, and Harchandpur.

Voice Service Performance

Key performance indicators (KPIs) for voice services measured in auto-selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G) highlighted differences among operators:

  • Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR): RJIL 100%, AIRTEL 99.51%, VIL 99.01%, BSNL 92%
  • Call Setup Time (CST): RJIL fastest at 0.75 sec; BSNL slowest at 2.45 sec
  • Drop Call Rate (DCR): VIL 0%, RJIL 0.49%, AIRTEL 2.7%, BSNL 3.32%
  • Call Silence Rate: VIL 2.25%, AIRTEL 3.47%, BSNL 1.57%, RJIL 0.77%
  • Mean Opinion Score (MOS): VIL highest at 4.40, AIRTEL 3.90, RJIL 3.81, BSNL 2.84

Data Service Performance

Data network quality in auto-selection mode revealed significant variations:

  • Average Download Speed: RJIL 172.58 Mbps, AIRTEL 103.06 Mbps, VIL 27.41 Mbps, BSNL 4.66 Mbps
  • Average Upload Speed: AIRTEL 19.16 Mbps, RJIL 14.20 Mbps, VIL 11.16 Mbps, BSNL 4.09 Mbps
  • Latency (50th percentile): AIRTEL 25.65 ms, BSNL 27.68 ms, RJIL 28.45 ms, VIL 32.20 ms

Methodology and Scope

The IDT involved live voice and data sessions using SIM cards from all telecom service providers across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. Tests were conducted in commercial zones, public transport hubs, and hotspot areas using multiple advanced handsets. All sessions were monitored and analyzed in real time with sophisticated software systems to ensure accurate performance measurements.

Next Steps and Consumer Guidance

TRAI has shared these results with the respective telecom operators for improvement actions where needed. Consumers can refer to the detailed IDT reports on TRAI’s official website www.trai.gov.in for comprehensive information.
