India’s Strategic Position
India maintains strong diplomatic and strategic relations with Israel while providing consistent humanitarian aid to Palestine. Early in the recent Gaza conflict, India was among the first countries to send relief materials through Egypt. Israel’s envoy to India, Reuven Azar, confirmed that Pakistan’s participation is considered unacceptable by Israel, emphasizing India’s unique standing.
“India’s engagement is widely acceptable, as it has balanced relations with both Israel and Palestine,” analysts told RamRajya News. This historic neutrality may allow India to play a constructive role in Gaza’s reconstruction and long-term peace efforts.
International Reactions
While Hungary, a close Trump ally, has accepted the invitation, other countries have expressed caution or refrained from commenting publicly. Diplomats warn that unilateral boards could potentially complicate the United Nations’ ongoing work in Gaza and broader international conflict resolution.
The executive board will include officials from Turkey, UAE, Qatar, and other nations, as well as UN representatives. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has noted that certain appointments, such as Turkey’s foreign minister, contradict Israel’s policy preferences, reflecting regional diplomatic sensitivities.
Formed on January 15 as part of Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan, the board could serve as a model for future global conflict resolution. Responsibilities of each member are expected to be clarified in the coming weeks.
