
Affordable Meals and Refreshments for Travelers

The cafe offers tea at Rs.10 and coffee, snacks, and sweets at Rs.20, ensuring that passengers can enjoy nutritious and cost-effective meals while traveling. Minister Kinjarapau emphasized that the initiative guarantees that no passenger travels with an empty stomach, and highlighted plans to expand the Udan Yatri Cafes to airports nationwide in a phased manner.
Airport Expansion and New Flight Routes
During the inauguration, the Minister provided updates on future developments at Vijayawada International Airport. The construction of the New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) is underway and expected to be completed in the coming months, which will significantly increase passenger handling capacity. Additionally, new domestic routes to Ahmedabad, Varanasi, and Pune are planned, along with an upcoming international flight connecting Vijayawada to Singapore.
Green Initiative: ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’
As part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ initiative, Shri Kinjarapau planted a sapling on the city side of the airport, promoting environmental responsibility alongside infrastructural and passenger service developments.
