In preparation for the Union Budget 2025-26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level consultation with prominent economists and sectoral experts at NITI Aayog in New Delhi on December 24, 2024. Key topics discussed included strategies for job creation, enhancing agricultural productivity, and funding major infrastructure projects to boost economic growth.

The meeting was attended by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister P.K. Mishra, and other senior officials.

This consultative approach is part of the government’s efforts to craft a forward-looking Budget aimed at maintaining India’s growth momentum while addressing pressing economic and social challenges. The Union Budget 2025-26 will be presented in February.
