Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda’s visit to AIIMS Bhubaneswar marked a significant leap forward in the institution’s mission to become a centre of excellence in both healthcare and research. In a series of transformative events, he inaugurated a state-of-the-art Central Research Laboratory, laid the foundation stone for a new Multiutility Gastronomy Block, and launched the institute’s revamped, patient-centric website.
The Central Research Laboratory stands as a beacon of innovation and commitment to advancing medical science. Designed to support high-end research and foster collaboration among medical professionals and scholars, the facility is expected to boost breakthrough discoveries that will benefit not just Odisha but the entire nation. With its cutting-edge infrastructure, the lab reinforces AIIMS Bhubaneswar’s standing as a rapidly growing leader in healthcare research.
The foundation of the Multiutility Gastronomy Block reflects a thoughtful response to the practical needs of the campus community. Envisioned as a comprehensive hub for services and amenities, this upcoming structure promises to enhance the quality of life for students, faculty, staff, and visitors alike, embodying a people-first approach to institutional development.
In a move that will enhance the digital accessibility of medical services, the newly launched AIIMS Bhubaneswar website now offers improved features and an integrated platform for patients and their families. The website not only serves as a gateway to healthcare but also honors Odisha’s rich cultural legacy through its thoughtful design.
During his visit, Shri Nadda also inaugurated the EHS Clinic and AMRIT Pharmacy, extending the reach of essential health services and affordable medications. He announced the upcoming establishment of a skin bank, further strengthening the institute’s capacity for specialized care.
Among the many stops on his tour, the Union Minister visited the Burn Centre—one of the most advanced in Eastern India—and appreciated the critical care being provided there. He also explored key facilities including the NICU, Rheumatology & Geriatric Clinic, Swachhata Exhibition, and planted a sapling at Smruti Upavan, reaffirming a commitment to both health and the environment.
Culminating in a high-level review meeting, Shri Nadda’s engagement with students, sanitary staff, and other personnel highlighted an inclusive and compassionate approach to governance. His visit underscored the government’s dedication to strengthening healthcare infrastructure while remaining closely connected to those who make it all possible.
