Songs of Mahakumbh 2025 Celebrate India’s Spiritual Soul

Songs of Mahakumbh 2025 Celebrate India’s Spiritual Soul

New Delhi, January 8, 2025 — In a melodic tribute to India’s spiritual heritage, Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw launched two special songs for the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025. The songs were produced by Doordarshan and Akashvani (All India Radio), celebrating devotion, culture, and collective faith through music.

“Mahakumbh Hai” – Doordarshan’s Powerful Theme Song

The song “Mahakumbh Hai”, produced by Doordarshan, was performed by the iconic Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher. The lyrics, penned by Aalok Shrivastav, and music composed by Kshitij Tarey, capture the spiritual depth and emotional vibrance of the Mahakumbh.

Combining folk sounds with contemporary arrangements, the track celebrates the unity of tradition and modern devotion. The music video is now streaming on Doordarshan’s TV and digital platforms, inviting citizens to connect with the soul of Mahakumbh.

Akashvani’s Soul-Stirring Composition

Complementing Doordarshan’s effort, Akashvani released a devotional composition titled “जय महाकुम्भ जय महाकुम्भ, पग पग जयकारा महाकुम्भ”. The song pays homage to the sacred gathering at Triveni Sangam, Prayagraj, where millions will take a holy dip for purification and salvation.

Sung by Ratan Prasanna, and composed by Santosh Nahar and Ratan Prasanna, with lyrics by Abhinay Shrivastava, the track evokes deep reverence. It connects listeners emotionally to the ritualistic and divine elements of the Mahakumbh experience.

Celebrating Culture, Connecting Souls

Both songs are more than artistic expressions—they are cultural milestones. They bring the energy of Mahakumbh into the homes and hearts of people across the nation. As India prepares for the grand event, these melodies serve as sonic bridges between generations, faiths, and regions.

At the launch, Shri Vaishnaw said, “Music has the power to bind us to our roots. These songs will inspire unity, devotion, and pride in our heritage.”

Reviving Traditions Through Modern Platforms

By releasing these songs via national broadcasters, the government aims to revitalize India’s spiritual traditions using contemporary media. Millions can now access these songs online and on-air, making Mahakumbh’s message widely accessible.

This musical initiative echoes the success of past cultural outreach programs and reinforces India’s commitment to preserving spiritual values through technology and mass communication.

A Prelude to Mahakumbh 2025

With the Mahakumbh expected to attract over 10 crore pilgrims, these songs build anticipation and reverence. They also promote awareness, spiritual awakening, and national pride—key themes of the event.

Whether heard during prayer, on pilgrim buses, or via smartphones, these compositions aim to accompany devotees on their journey of faith.

Conclusion

The songs launched for Mahakumbh 2025 are not just melodies—they are memories in the making. They amplify India’s age-old traditions and inspire millions to celebrate the power of faith and unity.
