Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Visit Chhattisgarh, Review Welfare Schemes and Uplift Rural Housing Initiatives

RR Team, May 13, 2025May 12, 2025

Raipur, May 13 — In a compassionate move aimed at strengthening the welfare of rural communities, Union Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will visit Chhattisgarh on May 13 to assess the progress of various centrally-sponsored schemes. His visit underscores the government’s continued commitment to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every corner of the country, especially the rural heartland.

Shri Chouhan will begin his day at the Naya Raipur Secretariat, where he will review the implementation of key central schemes in collaboration with the state administration. As a symbol of his dedication to environmental sustainability, the Union Minister will also plant a sapling at the Secretariat premises before proceeding to Ambikapur for a significant public event.

In Ambikapur, Shri Chouhan will be the chief guest at the “Mor Awas Mor Adhikar” program, a heartfelt initiative that reinforces the fundamental right to housing. At the PG College ground, he will personally hand over the keys to new homes under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (Gramin) and PM Janman to hundreds of families who have long awaited a secure roof over their heads. The event also includes the bhoomi pujan ceremony for beneficiaries beginning the construction of their new homes, along with the distribution of sanction letters, marking a hopeful new chapter in their lives.

In a touching moment of celebration and inclusion, the program will witness a massive grih pravesh (housewarming) ceremony for 51,000 beneficiaries—each family finally stepping into a place they can call home. Adding to the spirit of empowerment, self-help group members and “Lakhpati Didis” who have demonstrated extraordinary contributions to their communities will also be recognized and felicitated for their inspiring work.

This meaningful event will be presided over by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, with the presence of several esteemed leaders including Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Vijay Sharma and Shri Arun Sao, and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. Other dignitaries such as Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, Agriculture Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam, Public Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade will also join in support of this impactful occasion.

This visit not only reflects the government’s focus on accountability and development but also serves as a reminder of the transformative power of collective effort in uplifting the lives of the under privileged.
