In a significant move to modernize the postal infrastructure, Union Minister for Communications and the North Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, laid the foundation stone for a new building for the Head Post Office in Ashoknagar, Madhya Pradesh. The event took place at the Tulsi Sarovar premises in Ashoknagar, marking a key milestone in enhancing postal services in the region.
The new Head Post Office building, which will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹2.1 crore, is expected to be completed within a year. Designed to provide a modern, technology-driven environment, the facility will feature state-of-the-art amenities aimed at improving the customer experience. This Head Post Office will serve as the administrative center for 10 sub-post offices across the district, ensuring better services and convenience for the people of Ashoknagar.
During the ceremony, Minister Scindia reiterated the Government’s commitment to providing efficient, citizen-centric postal services, especially in rural areas. He emphasized the crucial role that the Department of Posts plays in connecting communities and facilitating communication across the country.
The event was attended by the Chief Postmaster General of Madhya Pradesh Circle, Shri Vineet Mathur, and Director of Postal Services, Shri Pawan Kumar Dalmia, along with other dignitaries, officials, and local residents.
The upcoming Head Post Office is envisioned to meet the evolving needs of the local community, with advanced facilities and infrastructure that reflect India Post’s ongoing transformation. This initiative is part of India Post’s broader effort to provide reliable, modern services, bridging the gap between urban and rural areas.
