New Delhi: Farmers across India are eagerly waiting for the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. To avoid missing the ₹2,000 benefit, you should update your mobile number and complete your e-KYC on time.
Why Updating Your Mobile Number Matters
The government uses your registered mobile number to send SMS alerts and OTPs for verification. It also helps you check your PM-Kisan status online. If your number has changed or become inactive, update it now to ensure smooth communication and uninterrupted payments.
Steps to Update Your Mobile Number on PM-Kisan Portal
- Go to the official site: pmkisan.gov.in
- Click on “Update Mobile Number”
- Enter your Aadhaar number or registration number
- Fill in the captcha and click “Search”
- Enter your new mobile number
- Submit the form and verify using the OTP sent to your phone
Alternative: Visit Your Nearest CSC
If you face issues online, visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or local Agriculture Office. Bring the following documents:
- Aadhaar Card
- PM-Kisan Registration Number
- Proof of mobile number ownership
Expected Date for 20th Installment
The government usually releases PM-Kisan installments in February, June, and October. While the last one was credited in February 2025, this time the release got delayed. Reliable sources suggest Prime Minister Modi will release the 20th installment in July 2025 at a national event.
Complete Your e-KYC to Stay Eligible
e-KYC is mandatory for all PM-Kisan beneficiaries. If you don’t complete it, your name might be removed from the eligible list. You can do it in one of three ways:
- OTP-Based: Use your Aadhaar-linked mobile number on the PM-Kisan portal
- Biometric: Visit a CSC and complete fingerprint verification
- Facial Authentication: Senior citizens and differently-abled farmers can verify using facial recognition at CSCs
Fixing Name Mismatch with Aadhaar
If your name on PM-Kisan doesn’t match your Aadhaar, follow these steps:
- Go to pmkisan.gov.in
- Click “Farmer Corner” > “Updation of Self Registered Farmer”
- Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha
- Correct your name to match exactly as on Aadhaar
- Submit the updated information
Alternatively, you can visit a CSC with documents like Aadhaar, land ownership records, and your bank passbook for assistance.
