UPSC CMS 2025 Final Result Declared, 812 Doctors Recommended

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Monday announced the final results of the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2025, recommending a total of 812 candidates for appointment to various central government medical services. The results were declared following the successful completion of
the written examination and the personality test conducted over the past several months. The CMS written examination (Part-I) was held on July 20, 2025, while the Personality Test (Part-II) took place between October and December 2025. Based on the overall performance, candidates have been
selected for posts under two distinct service categories notified by the government.

Category-I: Central Health Service Appointments

Under Category-I, candidates have been recommended for appointment as Medical Officers Grade in the General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of the Central Health Service. The government reported a total
of 365 vacancies under this category, including posts reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

Against these vacancies, UPSC has recommended 363 candidates. The selection includes 162 candidates from the General category, 77 from OBC, 58 from Scheduled Castes, 23 from Scheduled Tribes, and 43 from
the Economically Weaker Sections category. Fourteen candidates with benchmark disabilities are also among those recommended.

Category-II: Railways, NDMC and MCD Posts

Category-II covers appointments to multiple organisations, including Assistant Divisional Medical Officers in the Indian Railways, General Duty Medical Officers in the New Delhi Municipal Council, and General Duty Medical Officers Grade-II in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

A total of 479 vacancies were reported under this category. UPSC has recommended 449 candidates, with representation across General, OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories. Eighteen candidates with benchmark
disabilities are included in the final recommendations.

Reserve List and Provisional Candidates

For Category-II, the Commission has also maintained a consolidated reserve list of 60 candidates in accordance with examination rules. These candidates may be considered for appointment if additional vacancies arise or selected candidates do not join.

Additionally, the candidature of 376 recommended candidates has been declared provisional, subject to verification of original documents. UPSC clarified that appointment offers will be issued only after all eligibility conditions and formalities are completed satisfactorily.

Result Withheld in One Case

The Commission informed that the final result of one candidate has been withheld due to a pending writ petition before the Rajasthan High Court. The outcome will be decided subject to the final judicial order in the matter.
