UPSC IFS Final Result 2024 Out: 143 Candidates Selected

UPSC Declares Indian Forest Service Final Results 2024

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the Indian Forest Service Examination 2024. This marks the end of a long and challenging selection process.

Selection Process Timeline

The written exam was held from 24th November to 1st December 2024.
Later, the personality tests took place between 21st April and 2nd May 2025.
Now, the commission has published the final list of selected candidates.

143 Candidates Recommended

A total of 143 candidates have been selected for the Indian Forest Service.
These include individuals from various social categories, showing the inclusivity of the process.

Here is the category-wise breakdown:

  • General Category: 40 (including 4 Persons with Benchmark Disabilities or PwBD)

  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 19

  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 50 (including 1 PwBD)

  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 23

  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 11

However, two PwBD-1 seats remain vacant due to the lack of eligible candidates. These will be carried over to the next cycle.

Provisional and Withheld Results

The UPSC has kept the results of seven candidates on hold.
Also, the candidatures of 51 selected candidates are provisional.
These will be confirmed after final document verification.

Government Will Make Final Appointments

The Government will make the final appointments.
It will depend on vacancy availability and fulfillment of eligibility conditions as per the rules.

The total number of vacancies reported by the Government is 150.
This includes nine reserved for PwBD candidates.

Candidates can visit the UPSC Facilitation Counter for help.
It is open on working days from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The final result list is available on the official UPSC website.
Marks of all candidates will be published within 15 days.
