UPSC Geo-Scientist Prelims 2026 Result Declared

RR Team, March 2, 2026March 2, 2026

New Delhi, March 2, 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination 2026. Candidates who have qualified in the preliminary stage are now eligible to appear for the Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination scheduled for June 20 and 21, 2026.

Main Examination Dates Announced

The Preliminary Examination was conducted on February 8, 2026. Based on performance in this stage, selected candidates have been shortlisted for the next level of the recruitment process. The Main Examination will be held across designated centres on June 20 and 21, 2026.

The Commission clarified that the candidature of all qualified candidates remains provisional at every stage. Final eligibility will depend on fulfilling all conditions laid down in the examination rules.

Where to Check Results

The result is available on the official UPSC website. Candidates can access their roll numbers and related details by visiting the Commission’s portal at www.upsc.gov.in. The detailed notification is also available through the Press Information Bureau release.

UPSC has advised candidates to carefully read the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination Rules, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Mines and published in the Gazette of India on September 3, 2025. The examination notice bearing number 01/2026-GEOL dated September 3, 2025, remains available on the Commission’s website.

E-Admit Cards and Important Instructions

Qualified candidates will be able to download their e-admit cards for the Main Examination approximately one week before the commencement of the exam. The Commission has reiterated that no request for change of examination centre or discipline will be entertained under any circumstances.

Importantly, mobile phones and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside UPSC examination halls and campus premises. Candidates must comply with all examination guidelines to avoid disqualification.

Marks and Cut-Off to Be Released Later

The Commission has informed candidates that marks and cut-off scores of the Preliminary Examination will be uploaded only after the entire examination process concludes. This means the cut-off details will be published after the final results of the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2026 are declared.

This practice ensures transparency while maintaining procedural integrity until the recruitment cycle is complete.

Facilitation Counter for Candidates

UPSC has also reminded candidates about its Facilitation Counter located at the Commission’s campus. Aspirants can seek clarification regarding examination-related queries on working days between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Candidates may contact the Commission through telephone numbers 23388088, (011)-23385271, 23381125, or 23098543. Queries can also be sent via email to usgeol-upsc[at]nic[dot]in.

About the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination

The Combined Geo-Scientist Examination is conducted annually by UPSC to recruit professionals for various posts in geological and geoscientific services under the Government of India. The examination is conducted in multiple stages, including Preliminary, Main, and Interview rounds.

With the declaration of the Preliminary results, the focus now shifts to the Main Examination, which will determine the next set of shortlisted candidates for the personality test stage.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official UPSC website for updates and further announcements regarding the examination process.
