Uttar Pradesh is making significant strides in the renewable energy sector, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announcing an ambitious target of generating 22,000 megawatts (MW) of solar power. The state government is actively implementing various initiatives to achieve this goal, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and energy self-sufficiency.
During the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Avaada Group’s 5-gigawatt solar power manufacturing unit in Gautam Budh Nagar, the Chief Minister emphasized the critical need to transition towards clean and green energy. Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a sustainable future, he reiterated the government’s dedication to reducing carbon emissions and fostering an eco-friendly industrial landscape. He described renewable energy as one of the most pressing needs of the present time and assured that his administration would continue to push for advancements in this sector.
The Avaada Group, a leading player in renewable energy, has already launched a 1.5-gigawatt solar module manufacturing unit, which became operational in just 3.5 months. This rapid development not only underscores the efficiency of the project but also signals a new era of industrial progress for Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister noted that this initiative would play a crucial role in shaping the state’s economy, creating employment opportunities, and moving towards the larger goal of a $1 trillion economy.
Yogi Adityanath also highlighted how these developments strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as a major hub for green energy and industrial innovation. He stressed that such efforts align seamlessly with the objectives of national initiatives like Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India, both of which aim to promote self-reliance and local manufacturing.
