Veterans Day 2026: Army Investiture Ceremony Held in Jaipur

The Indian Army commemorated Veterans Day 2026 across military stations nationwide, honouring Veterans, Veer Naris, and their families. Jaipur Military Station, under South Western Command, hosted the main celebrations, presided over by Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi. The day also featured an Army Investiture Ceremony where gallantry awards, COAS citations, and commendations were conferred to exemplary soldiers and units.

COAS Engages with Veterans and Veer Naris

During the Army Veteran’s Day Lunch at Jaipur Polo Ground, General Dwivedi interacted with Veterans and Veer Naris, acknowledging their enduring contribution to the Army and national security. He also felicitated Zila Sainik Board officials for their diligent efforts in resolving veterans’ issues. The ‘Samman’ magazine, prepared by the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans, was released at the event. Ms Sunita Dwivedi, President of the Army Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA), felicitated Veer Naris and Veer Matas on this occasion.

Tributes and Focus on Modernisation

In his address, the COAS paid tribute to bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice and reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to veteran welfare. Highlighting the evolving nature of warfare, he emphasised ongoing modernisation, technology integration, and operational readiness, while upholding values of honour, courage, and duty. Veterans were lauded as role models and lifelong ambassadors of the Army’s ethos, with a call to engage the youth and communities to strengthen national unity and discipline.

Army Investiture Ceremony Highlights

The Investiture Ceremony recognised extraordinary service and bravery. Awards presented included 10 Sena Medals (Gallantry) and 49 COAS Unit Citations, along with COAS Certificates of Appreciation for 60 units, including 26 units for Operation Sindoor. In addition, six Veteran Achievers and three civilians were felicitated for distinguished contributions in supporting the Indian Army.

Upcoming Army Day Parade and Shaurya Sandhya

Veterans Day celebrations continue on 15 January 2026 with the Army Day Parade at Mahal Road, Jaipur, followed by the Shaurya Sandhya at Sawai Man Singh Stadium. These events will showcase the Indian Army’s operational readiness, professionalism, and strong bond with the nation’s citizens.
